Is selling your home during the holidays a good idea or a bad idea?
Is selling your home during the holidays a good idea or a bad idea? Hey there, Jenevieve Croall here with JLUX Homes Realty Group. As the holiday excitement builds, many people hit pause on selling their homes, convinced that nobody is hunting for their next house during the festive season. But the truth is-no matter the time of year, people are ALWAYS looking to buy a new home. Here are the top 3 reasons listing your home during the holidays isn’t such a bad idea:

1.There are typically fewer listings hitting the market during the holidays, which means you will have less competition when selling. And with less competition usually comes more profit for the seller versus waiting until the Spring when buyers typically have more options to choose from.

2.Holiday buyers mean business. January is traditionally the month for employees to begin new jobs and therefore transferees are looking to buy before the end of the year. Others may need to purchase before the tax year ends. Either way, Anyone out house-hunting over the holidays obviously isn’t messing around and is ready to buy.

3.Christmas sells. Nothing makes for a better staging opportunity than a home decked out for the holidays. People buy on emotion and back up with logic. And there may be no more powerful emotional pull than the feelings associated with the winter holidays.

Well, there you have it—the three reasons selling during the holidays isn’t such a bad idea after all.But there is no doubt that selling during the festive season comes with its challenges too. But sometimes, great opportunities can be found where others see a challenge. Ultimately, you will need to decide what is suitable for your family. If you’d like to discuss the pros and cons of listing your home during the holiday season, give me a shout.Until next time…
